Im in Art Battles this friday in Soho

I was supposed 2 b in the last one but got oved to this one due to a technicality. Anyway come on down to Le Poisson Rouge this friday to check it out.

ArtBattles will host a night of live-art & music at (Le) Poisson Rouge on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village on Friday September 26th, 2008 at 10:30 pm.

The event begins with a "2 v 2" Live-Art Crew Battle between M Squared (Marthalicia & Tomas) andOld Soulz (Pesu & Riz 22). A performance from the soul-jazz pop group AMIT will accompany the artists.

The second part of the event will showcase eight individual artists battling in a head to head competition. Music will be supplied by DJ Teenwolf of NinjaSonik & Sound Advice.

The winners of each match will be determined by crowd participation. All work created during the night will be available to purchase.

Artwork by Chuck Close will also be on display in the gallery/bar.


ArtBattles is a live, competitive art show for up-and-coming artists created to provide a platform for young-unknowns to be discovered and sell their artwork. It has become the premiere venue for live artists to measure their skills amongst their peers and showcase their talent to the masses.

Making his way across the Canadian/U.S. border for a debut NYC performance, AMIT has recently been a featured artist on Myspace Canada and also had a song featured in the classic Dance Dance Revolution video game, not to mention his brand new EP being released in mid-October.

(Le) Poisson Rouge is a multimedia art cabaret founded by musicians on the former site of the historic Village Gate. Dedicated to the fusion of popular art cultures in music, film, theater, dance, and fine art. The venue's mission is to revive the symbiotic relationship between art and revelry -- to establish a creative asylum for both artists and audiences.
