The Simpsons Commemorative Stamp Release

In its 20th season, The Simpsons has become part of Americana and the longest running prime-time sitcom in television history. Now, America’s favorite family will add another laurel with their very own commemorative stamps. Announced on April 1st and revealed yesterday, the concept was chosen from roughly 50,000 suggestions last year. The commemorative collection includes stamps, postcards, first day cover, and large giclée print, will all be issue on May 7th. The issuer, the U.S. Postal Service, is also holding a contest where everyone has the opportunity to vote for their favorite Simpsons. Philatelical enthusiasts as well as Simpsons’ fans could pre-order the commemorative set now at the US Postal Service’s online store.
